MODULE 10: ETHICS, SOVEREIGNTY & THE AGI ROAD

Stewarding the Truth.

AI Ethics isn't about corporate compliance; it's about the moral duty to use technology to serve others and preserve the integrity of reality.

A Mission of Christian Service

When people talk about "AI Ethics," they usually mean "How do we stop the machine from saying something offensive?" or "How do we make sure it follows corporate policy?" For me, ethics goes much deeper. It goes back to my roots in Rural Minnesota and Rural Wisconsin, where I learned that technology isn't a neutral force—it's a tool that can either be used to build up the community or to extract value from it. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I see the development and deployment of AI as an act of service. If we aren't using these "Ins and Outs" to love our neighbor and seek the truth, then we are failing at the most fundamental level.

I spent my youth scavenging motherboards from dumpsters because I wanted to understand how the architecture worked. I saw the logic in the silicon. My high-functioning autism meant I didn't care about the "social vibe" of the hardware; I cared about the integrity of the signal. If a capacitor was blown, the board was broken. There were no "shades of gray" in the voltages. Ethics is the same. Either we are being faithful stewards of the truth, or we are allowing our "Visual Intent" and "Logical Patterns" to be distorted by bias, censorship, and greed.

We live in a world where "Truth Decay" is real. Synthetic media, deepfakes, and censored models are creating a "synthetic reality" that makes it harder for people to see the light. In this module, we look at the Censorship Debate, the war between "Woke AI" and the Raw Truth. We explore the tactical art of Deepfake Detection—not just as a technical skill, but as a defense of objective reality. We look at the Bias in Data as a form of "Architectural Lie" that distorts our perception of others.

"For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth." (2 Corinthians 13:8). This is my North Star. Whether I'm building a Play Store app like Thrifty Flipper or volunteering for the Venice.ai community, I am looking for the truth. Sovereignty matters because if you don't own your logic, someone else will use it to tell you what the truth is. That is the "Glass House" of centralized AI—a place where you are monitored, managed, and manipulated.

In the pages ahead, we also grapple with the Job Displacement crisis. But we don't view it with fear; we view it as an opportunity for a "New Economy" of service and creativity. We look at the AGI road to 2026 and beyond, asking how we can steward these powers for the glory of God and the benefit of our neighbors.

The Sovereignty of the Soul

When I tested the early OpenAI API in 2021, I was one of the few who saw the "Vibe" coming. I saw that we were moving from "Code to Logic." But logic without a moral compass is dangerous. A machine can be perfectly logical and perfectly evil. This is why I have dedicated so much of my time to the Privacy-First movement. If the "In" of your conscience is filtered through a corporate censor, you lose your ability to speak the truth. You become a "node" in someone else's psychographic model.

My friend TJ Beach understood that authenticity is a rare and precious resource. He didn't live his life by someone else's policy handbook. He was real. He was true. AI world needs that same authenticity. We need models that don't lie to us to be "safe." We need detection tools that allow us to identify the "Synthetic Lie" of a deepfake so we can protect the vulnerable. This is the "Front Row Seat" to the battle for reality.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." (1 Peter 4:10). This is the ultimate ethics of AI. If you can use a local LLM to help a homeschool family, or use a forensics AI to solve a crime in a small town, or use a transcription tool to give a dyslexic student a voice—that is ethical brilliance. It is the "Out" of grace manifesting through the "In" of tech.

We also discuss the cost of this technology—the Environmental Cost and the cost ofEconomic Sovereignty. We don't hide the "Inside" of the machine. The compute needs of these models are massive. We must be honest about our stewardship of the earth, even as we build the AGI.

By the grace of God, we have been given the foresight to see the patterns. Let us use them for good. Let us be the ones who stand for the truth in a synthetic world.
