Escaping the Glass House.

Imagine living in a house where every wall is made of two-way glass. To you, it looks like a mirror—a useful tool to check your reflection, adjust your collar, and groom yourself for the world. But on the other side of that glass, a corporation is standing with a notepad, recording every flinch, every whisper, and every private thought you utter to yourself. This is the "Glass House" of public AI.

When I first started testing the OpenAI API in early 2021, I was mesmerized by the reflection. The machine was so capable, so articulate, that I forgot who was on the other side of the glass. But as a self-taught systems engineer who grew up scavenging motherboards in Rural Minnesota, I've always been wary of systems I don't "own." If I can't touch the circuit, I don't fully trust the logic.

Being high-functioning autistic means my "internal logic" is my most sacred asset. My brain processes patterns in a way that is unique to me. When I feed those patterns into a mass-market LLM, I am essentially giving a corporation a blueprint of my mind. I am allowing them to "harvest" the unique "Ins" of my neurodivergence to build their next iterative "Out." This is why I have become an advocate for Private AI.
